Q. What suspension design provides the best overall ride? 4 Bar-linkage (Ellsworth Truth) or VPP (Santa Cruz Blur) I heard the VPP design is the new wave to dual suspension. While the 4 bar is old technology and will slowly die out. I am stuck on which bike to buy! MMM/mbaction.com – 8/23/2004 7:00:48 PM
A. RC: Done right, the four-bar active rear suspension that Ellsworth, Titus and Turner use gives the best overall ride. VPP supension, as executed by Santa Cruz and Intense delivers a firm pedal platform wihout interfering with the rear suspension's ability to track the ground. The VPP's dual-linkage design, however, cannot be completely decoupled from braking and pedaling forces, so it comes in at second place. Technically, the VPP design is also a four-bar linkage–just used for a different purpose.
nerozumiem jednej veci. ked pise, ze je „firm pedal“, ale ze nemozes „completely decoupled pedaling forces“ takze vivat horst-link (ak to chape pod 4-bar linkage a nie napr. Kona system)
